The Perfect LBD Accessory

The Perfect 'Little Black Dress' Accessory for EVERY Woman

The 'Little Black Dress', or more commonly known as the 'LDB', has been with us sine Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel first published a picture of a short, simple black dress in American Vogue in 1926.  Whether in fashion magazines, style books, or blogs on the internet, we've been told continuously that EVERY woman should have one!

There is no doubt, the LBD can indeed be elegant.  But beware; whilst black is an understandable choice, for women with very fair complexions it can be quite unforgiving.  For women with olive skin tones it has the ability to make them look sallow, and for the older woman, well, it can be quite draining.

But we love the 'Little Black Dress', it's classic, and as an Image Consultant I'm in agreement that EVERY woman should have one.  So how do we get around the impact the color black can have on various skin types?  We Accessorize!

Working with the very creative Carol Roskey, of Rosca Designs, we have combined my color expertise and her incredible design skills to develop  the 'Perfect LBD Accessory' .

This particular piece combines unbelievably warm copper-bronze, perfect for the deep and warm skin tones. Translucent burgundy with a hint of gold for those with clear skin and eyes, and iridescent lilac with hues of copper, aqua and pink that sits perfectly on fair skin. Whether your overall coloring is Deep, Warm, Soft, Clear or Cool, or your eyes are Brown, Green, Grey, Hazel or Blue, this necklace will bring out the very best in ALL of us...promise.

Carlos Santa Shoes at Zappos

Carlos Santa Shoes at Zappos.com

The fact that I am about to write the next statement is proof in its self as to how far I have come! Yes, I am a reformed shoe-aholic......there I said it. However, no matter how many times I say it, or how determined I am to maintain it.......periodically there comes along a shoe that makes a girl's heart pound and her determination falter............

I have long been a fan of Zappos.com and I have managed to maintain a reasonable, seasonal, shopping tactic; buying shoes only when I need them, and more often than not, the purchase is to replace a pair of shoes that the Shoe Hospital can no longer render treatment to.  But I fear I am about to weaken for Carlos Santa Shoes have arrived at Zappos.com........

Carlos Santa Shoes are not new to me; I first discovered them in the Houston Outlet Mall on Highway 290, but that was a car ride away....so easy to avoid.  But now they are just a click away on my office computer, and with the wonderful Zappos shipping service they could be on my doorstep TOMORROW....I soooooooo need help!

Take a look ladies, how can a girl resist? They are beautifully made, unique designs and colors, and I promise, they ARE comfortable.......

Carlos Santa Shoes at Zappos.com start at prices from $29.00 to $110.00.

In the mean time I will keep telling myself  "I am a reformed shoe-aholic" ......"I am a reformed shoe-aholic"..........."I am a reformedshoe-aholic".....wish me luck!

Image and A Great New Find

MLD StudioWith a population of over 5 million, it is not surprising that I am always learning something new about Houston! Just last month I discovered an amazing company called 'M.L.D. Limited'. Now, M.L.D. is not a new company, in fact, they have been in business for over 18 years...I just didn't know they were there.......who are they and what do they do?

M.L.D Limited is a custom design company, owned by designer Mary Denney.  Mary and her team design and create unique and stylish couture clothing at affordable prices. I have had the opportunity to visit M.L.D's studio twice, and on both occasions I was blown away by the attention to detailing on their clothes, the beautiful, and classic ,styles, the great selection of fabrics, coupled with a very friendly, approachable, design team.

Image and Color Blocking

Ginny 5Have you ever wanted to get dressed in the morning and make a certain part of your anatomy disappear?

Have you ever wanted to look taller and thinner within minutes? The easiest way to look taller and slimmer is to COLOR BLOCK!

When our eyes rest on a lighter shape against a lighter background our vision travels outside the shape, this makes the area look bigger. But if our eyes see the outside of a solid, darker shape against a lighter background, then the eye stays within the shape, making the area appear smaller.

Image and Closet Shopping

Closet ShoppingHave you ever imagined a shopping spree where the clothes are free? Currently, many of us are looking for ways to cut back on expenses.  What if I told you there's a place where you can shop with no need for a credit card, check book, or cash; and that this great place was right on your doorstep!

It's your closet......

When a client tells me they have "nothing to wear", the first place I take them shopping is their closet. Why? Well consider what's actually in your closet:

  • Clothes you liked when you purchased them.
  • Clothes from the past that remind you of a particular time or event.
  • Clothes that were gifted to you.
